> The area

St Remy de Provence is at the foot of the Alpilles between the historic centres of Aix en Provence (the Oxford of France), Avignon (with its Palais de Papes) and Arles adjacent to the Camargues.

St Remy, named after the Bishop of Reims, birthplace of Nostradamus, has inspired many artists not least van Gogh and Cézanne with its unique light and beautiful surroundings.

The ancient town is a maze of streets which wend their way round the old buildings all of which is encircled by a boulevard shaded by plane trees and bordered by cafes and restaurants.

> Things to do

Explore the historic towns, shop in the chic markets. Brush up your history by visiting Glanum, Les Baux or the Pont du Gard.

Cycle the pathways, walk in the Alpilles watch the eagles soar over the limestone outcrops. Ride the Camarguaise horses, drive to the coast and play on the beach or see the minature city of Aigues Mortes or try the local wines in the caves opposite our Domaine.
